Forming young people in faith is hard, so here’s something to help parents, ministers, and mentors. I have designed a resource for just this purpose. Organized into seven sessions with short prayers from the liturgy of the hours and substantive discussion questions, the companion guide to my What Matters Most book is ideal for parents, campus ministers, religious educators, and pastoral ministers, including youth ministers.
With the Synod on “Young People, the Faith and Vocational Discernment” concluded and Pope Francis’s post-synodal apostolic exhortation now in circulation, the time is right to begin rebuilding a culture that empower young people to build their lives on the Catholic faith. The only way for this to happen is to establish smaller cultures in parishes, schools, and especially homes where young people learn how to grow in trust of God’s Word and in creativity for acting in response. This resource assists those entrusted with the formation of young people in becoming more aware of the issues we face and more intentional in our efforts to form young people in faith.
The companion resource is free and available as a PDF that is easy to share digitally or print out for use. If you have any questions or would like to have a conversation about any of this, please do not hesitate to contact me via the form below or by phone at (574) 631-2915.
